A native of Arroyo Grande,
Dr. Ikeda attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo before earning a B.S. degree
in biology from Loma Linda University. After graduating second in his
class from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 1982, he served
as a resident at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Dr Ikeda received
the prestigious Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry
in 1988, which required the successful completion of 500 hours of
continuing education and an extensive all-day examination. Dr. Ikeda has been serving his patients in Santa Maria since 1983. During the course of his practice, he has received special training in cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry, and reconstructive dentistry. Committed to excellence and improvement, Dr. Ikeda routinely attends 100-200 hours of continuing dental education per year, far more than the 25 hours required by California law. In 1999, Dr. Ikeda graduated from Creating Restorative Excellence, one of the premier post-graduate dental programs in the country. Fewer than 5% of dentists in America have achieved this level of education. Among Dr. Ikeda’s many patients, a number of dentists and dentists’ spouses are a testament to Dr. Ikeda’s care, skill, judgment, and reputation. Active in the community, Dr. Ikeda is a past president of the Santa Maria Valley Kiwanis Club. As an advocate and fan of organized sports, he has coached and sponsored several youth athletic teams. Dr. Ikeda is currently on the Allan Hancock College Foundation Board of Directors. He is also involved in the Central Coast Japanese Community Center. |
